EXEMPTION FOR MARINERS.

The First Auckland Military Service Board yesterday considered appeals lodged by the assistant-secretary of the Seamen's Union on behalf of Wm. C. Buckley, Frank Doreen, David G. Brett, Jas. WBarnett, Francis Tierney, Cuthbert A Moore, Arch. McPherson, Wm. McKay, Jas. Murphy, Francis C. Smith, Thos. Shelly, and Clarence Wood, all able seamen. The cases were adjourned sine die. Mr. R. Hammond, assistant-manaser of the Northern Steamship Company, supported the appeal of George Bell," marine officer on a coastal steamer engaged in carrying wool, butter and other essential products ; also that of Robt.
