METHODIST CIRCUIT.
♦ The Onehunga Methodist Circuit quarterly meeting was held at Penrose on Monday evening under the »■ chairmanship of the Rev. C. C. Harrison. The membership returns showed an increase of four senior and twenty junior members. The Sunday afternoon school and service at Mangere Bridge -were reported as being well established. The Penrose Sunday-school has 60 scholars, and the services, both morning and even--1 ing, were well supported. Gratifying reports were received respecting the attendances at the Onehunga services. The young people's departments were reported 1 to be successful. The trustees have re- . solved that all pew rents be abolished at the end of September. The balance-sheet • showed a credit balance. A grant was ; voted to the Auckland City Methodist , chaplains' fund, and to the fund for the ' maintenance of chaplains' work at K-ili-j tary camps. Approval was given to the i application to conference by the Onehunga 1 trustees for permission to sell the parson- ' age and land, so that a more suitable * house might be erected and further work I promoted in the circuit. It was resolved I that the circuit put every effort forth' in s raising its share of the sum of £10,000 ! being raised for foreign missions.
