COUNCIL OF DELEGATES ATTACK GENERAL ALEXIEFF
% ______ DIFFERENCE IN VIEWS ON ANNEXATION QUESTION. Australian and N.Z. Cable. (Received 7 p.m.) LONDON, May 25. The Petrograd correspondent of the Daily Express states that General Alexieff, Commander-in-Chief, in a speech to army officers, said: "Peace without annexations or contributions is Utopian." The bulletin of the Council of Workmen and Soldiers Delegates thereupon accused General Alexieff of sowing sedition, and recalled that he served the old regime. The bulletin added: "The Government will know how to put this presumptuous and garrulous general in his place." Other newspapers praise General Alexieff for telling the naked truth. Many soldiers now consider the removal of the Grand Duke Nicholas was an unfortunate blunder. Admiral Kolchay, commander of the Black Sea fleet, who is a man of striking personality, is often mentioned as a possible leader against the growing anarchy.
