.•■■:■ EDEN" AMATEUR CLUB. : Followers. of the Auckland swimming champions will have;an opportunity of seeing them, m a 220 yds invitatiou scratch race this evening at the Mount Eden baths. Con Welson, the, New Zealand champion, will endeavour to lower the New Zealand record for 220 yds- In this he will be assisted by E. G-. L. Patterson, holder of, the 75yds and 100 yds Auckland championships, and Leo. Kronfeld, the v Auckland Grammar School champion.. After last Saturday's performance in the Tepid Baths it is quite possible that all three will .come within the Now Zealand record time. There being 55 events on the programme, the carnival will start punctually at ' 7.30 p.m. A unique novelty event -will be the 50yds blind-fold race. Members of the Royal Life Saving Society will- perform the famous Monte Christo act.
