MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

SUBURBAN MAYORALTIES.

The present Mayor of Mount Eden, Mr. Oliver Nicholson, announces that he. will again stand for the Mayoralty •; of the borough at the forthcoming municipal elections. Mr. Nicholson received a requisition signed by ISQO electors asking him to accept nomination. The majority of the members of the present council also assured him that if he acceded to the request they also would seek, re-election. Mr. Nicholson thereupon decided to allow himself to be nominated. A second candidate for the. Mayoralty will be Mr. R. D. Stewart, a member of the council. ' Mr. Murdoch McLean, who has filled the Mayoral chair of Mount Albert for the last six years, has decided not to seek reelection,, on account of indifferent health. At a meeting of the Borough Council, on Monday a resolution was passed thanking Mr. McLean for his services to the muni--1 cipality. PROVINCIAL MAYORALTIES. A petition signed by, all > tho members of the council and .123 other citizens was presented to the Mayor of To Awamutu, Mr._ A. -8. .Wallace,' on Monday evening inviting him to accept , nomination for reelection. ' The petition also expressed appreciation of tho faithful manner in which Mr. Wallace has devoted * himself to the duties of tho office. Mr. Wallace said he would announce 1 his decision at the next meeting of the council. ' . The only candidate mentioned for the Mayoralty of Cambridge is Mr. W. G.
