-Sir,— - notice that by statute the municipal * elections have to be held on April 25 and on that account one of the most memorable anniversaries of the Dominion, Anzac. Day, has had to be advanced -to April 23. ; This being the case, I fail to see - why a meeting .of the - Auckland Trotting Club "should be. allowed to be held on that date and I trust that our Mayor and v city members - will use their influence to obtain a postponement of the latter event, ' so - that our civic elections (which at .the present time are most important) will .not' be hampered with the distraction! of a'race meeting. v Elector. *' V ' ' " •
