OPOSSUMS IN THE SOUTH.
Fob two years now opossums in the Wellington : district have : been protected. The council of, the local Acclimatisation Society has decided to apply to the Minister for Internal Affaire for a short season in which opossums may-he taken. It is suggested that the season should be two months, and that ' the number of skins taken by one sportsman should be limited to 40, which is considered sufficient to make a rug. ". , "
