The ; following "list is supplied by the New Zealand«' Shipping , Company of officers of the steamer Otaki,, the sinking 1 of which was reported yesterday, who are now prisoners in Germany:— Commander, Captain L. G. Silba, Chief Officer, Mr. P.M. McLeod. Second Officer, Mr. L. H. Woods. Third Officer, Mr, E. F. Pattenden. Fourth Officer, Mr. R. Angell. Chief 'Engineer, Mr. G. W. Wilson. Second Engineer, Mr. W. A. Thomson. Third Engineer, Mr. A. H. Little. Fourth Engineer, Mr. H. Somerville. Fifth Engineer, Mr. J. Clyne. Sixth Engineer, Mr. L. Smart. Refrigerating Engineer, Mr. W. Legall. Second Refrigerating Engineer, Mr. C. S. Lancaster. Chief Steward, Mr. F. J. Wills. Midshipman, Mr. B. L. Kilner. Captain Silba is well known in New Zealand, as he lias long been in the service of the company, lie has been in command of the Otaki singe soon after she was built. The second officer, Mr. Woods, and the .chief engineer, Mr. Wilson, have been in the vessel for over two years. ■Mr. Angell, the fourth officer, joined the vessel in Wellington when she was in New Zealand last. He- was fourth officer of the Tongariro when that vessel was wrecked near Gisborne. Mr. Legall, the chief refrigerating engineer, and Mr. Wills, the chief steward, have been some years, in the vessel. Mr. McNeish was chief officer when the Otaki ieft New Zealand, and it is thought that it is he and not Mr. McLeod who has been made a prisoner.
