Mb. Arthur A. Prentice, who left with the twenty-fifth reinforcements for Tr>.ntham, was presented with a set of pipes and silver tobacco-box by his fellow-members of the staff'of the London and Lancashire Fire Insurance Company., Limited.

Before leaving with the twenty-ilfth reinforcements opportunity was taken to bid farewell to Mr. T. S. Littlejohn, traveller for R. E. Blakey, when he was presented with a luminous wristlet Watch and cheque by Mr. R. E. Blakey and staff.

AUCKLAND PRESBYTERY.

ELECTION OF MODERATOR.

The Auckland Presbytery met last erening in St. Andrew's schoolroom, the retiring moderator, the Rev. R. Inglis, presiding. The Rev. W. Mac Donald was elected moderator for the current six months and later took the chair. The reports of commissions of visitation to Knox Church, Mount Albert, Kauri and St. Stephen's were received and adopted.

The Rev. G. B. Munro reported that the Rev. F. A. Thompson had received a call from St. Peter's Church. The presbytery decided that the call should be sustained, and Mr. Thompson announced his acceptance. The "induction was arranged for Thursday, January 18.
