WELLINGTON CASES.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PBESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Wednesday. The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court were continued to-day. George Crowther, Hector McLean, Charles Hazeldine, and John Birch, all of whom are serving long sentences in the Terrace gaol for serious crimes, were charged with attempting to break out of the gaol and with assaulting Warder Spittall and causing actual bodily harm. All were found guilty and were remanded for sentence. Convictions were recorded also in the case of Maude Williams, on a charge of bigamy, and Frederick Edward Upham— forging and utteringsentence being deferred in both cases.
