POLICE COURT NEWS
SHORT LIST OF CASES. A shoet list of cases came up for hearing in the Police Court yesterday before Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M. Albert Gold, who, while drunk in Victoria Street on Sunday, was found waving a bottle about and behaving in a disorderly manner, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. A fine of £2 was imposed upon James Hill Underwood for committing a nuisance while drunk. For procuring liquor while prohibited James Cameron was fined £1. Three first offenders forfeited their bail and three were convicted and discharged. A SERIOUS CHARGE. An elderly man named Frederick Abiathar McAlpine was charged with indecently assaulting his daughter, aged 14 years 6 months. He pleaded guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
