CHURCH SOCIAL.
The quarterly social of the Eereeford ! Street Congregational Church was held in I the Sunday-school building last evening. j The gathering was well attended. The I Hon. George Fowlds delivered an address i emphasising the importance of such functions daring war-time- The minister of • the church, the Rev. F. Warner, stated j that the church and Sunday-school showed j evidence of progress. He added that the. ' new Congregational hymnary, which was I being sent out from England, would be in I use in the Beresford Street Church I shortly, and afterwards throughout the j Dominion. This book was the first new J compilation of the kind issued for Congrej gational use during the last 30 year*. j During the course of the evening several musical items were rendered.
