SYDNEY CELEBRATIONS.
OPTIMISTIC SPEECHES.
(Received 11.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 4.
The war anniversary celebrations were marked by a few minutes' cessation from activity at noon, the shipping blowing syrens. An 'optimistic note characterised the speeches at various meetings. Each of the latter recorded an inflexible determination to carry on the war to a victorious end.
