CONFIRMATION OF RATES.

At the monthly meeting of the Waite- ' mat-a County Council held yesterday the J chairman, Mr. A. M. Laing, presided. ' There were also present: Messrs. J. I Bethell, A. Cochran, W. Oliphant, H. Day,• XV. H. Hart, J. McLeod, V. KerrTaylor, F. Povnton, W. McCat-hie, and F. Dye. A request that steps be taken to pros- ! pect and open up the northern lime fields resulted in the council deciding to offer a reward for information regarding payable deposits of lime within the county, j Messrs.
