THE RUGBY GAME.

MEETING OF UNION.

A meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Union war held last evening. Pesent: Messrs. F. J. Ohlson, chairman, P. Mackie, C. Hinton, A. Twiname, H. Frost, J. H. Pagiii, G. Nicholson and A. Tilly, secretary. Tho protest lodged by Grammar School Old Boys second grade team against Grafton, for playing an over-age player was sustained, and tlio match awarded to Grammar School Old Boys.

The protest lodged by the Parnell third grade team against Ponsonby for playing two players over the age limit of the grade was adjourned to allow Parnell to produce documentary evidence of the players' ages. A counter-protest was lodged on the same grounds.

• Tho application of a Marist Brothers Old Boys player for a transfer to the Grafton Club was held over.

The University Club made an application to transfer R-eid from the B team to the A team. The application was granted subject to the condition that the University Club supply the committee with the name of the player whom Reid is to replace.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the Management Committee of tho Auckland Rugby League was held last evening. There were present: Messrs. R. Benson, chairman. R. Tatton. T. Fielding, C. Baker. I. Fellowes, R. Pollock, N. Culpan, treasurer, and R. A. Spinley, secretary.

The junior advisory board recommended that tho RiveAead protest against the Newton third grade team for playing a disqualified man should be disallowed, as it was founded on a _ case of mistaken identity. The recommendation was approved _ Also, on the advice of tho junior board, it was decided to caution two players for fighting during a match, and the other for disputing a referee's ruling and for using bad language.

A letter was received from the Railway Department notifying the league that the snecisl train run from Auckland to Otaliuhu on Saturday afternoons for the benefit of footballers was not used sufficiently to warrant a continuance of the service. It was decided to notify the various clubs, requesting them to make more use of the train than formerly.

fl was decided that the time allowed for the entering of a counter-protest should be up to the commencement of the deliberation on the first protest.

THE ASSOCIATION GAME.

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE-

Thc members of the Auckland Football Association met on Tuesday evening. Present: Messrs. D. A. Williams, chairman, Carmichael, Harrison. Campbell. Gribble, Hoiford. and L. Warren, seoretary. The Mount Albert Club applied for the transfer of a member of the North Shore Club. The latter club was agreeable, on condition that the player concerned became financial by Friday. , The transfer was granted, subject to that condition being complied with. A report was made in regard to the unfavourable conduct of the Richmond fifth grade players when acting as spectators during the Everton v. Richmond match. It was resolved that the secretary of the Richmond Club be notified that in future unseemly or unsportsmanlike behaviour will be dealt with severely by the executive. It was also decided to call the attention of club officials generally to their responsibilities in regard to tho conduct of their members, whether as spectators or players. In the same match. Everton v. Richmond, the referee's report will necessitate the attendance of an Everton player at the next meeting of the A.F.A.

Further evidence ha.ving been heard in the case of the Mount Albert player suspended for supplying a wrong, ago on his registration form, it was decided to reopen the case, and to ask Messrs. Mortimer. Walbroro. and Fisk to give evidence next Tuesday evening. The player will remain under suspension until the decision of the executive is announced. The Devonport " Presbyterian-Technical College match was, owing to the school vacation, postponed until tho conclusion of the round. Permission was granted the Devonport Presbvterian Club to play a friendly game with Tabernacle at the former club's ground on Saturday next. The next meeting of the Auckland Football Association will be one at which club delegates may attend. The executive will meet early to deal with the referees' reports of last week.
