LIGHT, LIST OF CHARGES.

Only cases q§, minor importance were heard in the Police Court yesterday before Mr. F. V. Frazer, B.M. Henry Boyson, aged 62 years, was charged with being drunk in Rutland Street. He was ordered to be detained until he could be sent to Roto Roa. Robert Mitchell was fined £2 and costs for procuring liquor while prohibited. Charles D'Arcy, aged 50 years, was charged with being drunk, and with breaking the terms of his prohibition order. He was fined £3 and costs on the second charge. W. Tierney was remanded for two days' medical treatment on a charge of drunkenness. It was stated by Sub-Inspector McIlveney that accused, when drunk, had collided with a cyclist, the latter's shoulder being fractured. Thomas Edward King, aged 57 years, a third offender, was ordered to pay 17s 6d hospital expenses incurred as the result of drunkenness, and was also prohibited. Eliza Agnes Monaghan, charged with drunkenness, was convicted, discharged, and prohibited. Daniel Riley, seaman, admitted deserting from the ship Port Hardy on June 15. Chief-Detective McMahon said accused was now working on another steamer, and giving satisfaction. He was agreeable to paving expenses incurred in connection with the charge. Accused was ordered to pay £3 10s expenses, and was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon. Leslie James Traill was ordered to pay costs for driving a motor-car without sufficient lights. P. Vercoe was fined 10s and costs for carting offensive matter through the streets during the proscribed hours. Alfred Taylor was fined 5s and costs for leaving a horse and cart unattended in Great North Road.
