FIGHT WITH SUBMARINE.
A PLUCKY COLLIER. Londldn, May 3. The collier Wandle put into the Tyne after an engagement with a submarine in the North Sea lasting half-an-hour. A fireman was injured. The pirate carried a large sail as a disguise, and attacked the collier without warning, opening fire from a distance of a mile.
The Wandle quickly replied, disconcerting the submarine, which made no attempt to close in. The master and crew of the Wandle are positive that their fourth and fifth shots struck the submarine. She suddenly disappeared as the Wandle fired the sixth shot.
