PATRIOTIC MATINEE.
— ♦ MEMORIAL TO THE FALLEN. Great interest has been aroused in the patriotic matinee which is to be held in His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday afternoon for tho purposo of raising funds to equip the Auckland Children's Hospital, as a memorial to soldiers, sailors, and nurses who havo fallen during the war. The programme arranged by the Auckland Dramatic and Vaudeville Employees' Association is a highly-attractivo one, and should be responsib'o for adding a largo sum to tho fund. Mr. Julius Knight and his company will appear in tho first act of tho war play, " Under Fire," which is being presented with such success in Auckland by the J. C. Williamson firm. A talented band of artists will support, including performers from tho Opera House, and Miss Cecil Hall's pupils. The association, which has taken up tho project of providing equipment for- the hospital with characteristic enthusiasm, anticipates a crowded house.
