GERMANS VAINLY ASSAULT MORT HOMME POSITIONS.
THREE ATTACKS COMPLETELY REPULSED BY FRENCH. FAILURE OF ATTEMPT ON ADVANCED POST AT AVOCOURT. Paris, April 25. An official report states that on Monday evening the Germans made three unsuccessful attacks on the allies' new positions at Mori Homme Hill. The attacks were preceded by a violent bombardment. Two attempts to reach the allies' lines were completely checked. The third attack, which was more violent, was supported by the free use of flaming liquid. It was decisively repelled, the enemy being swept by a curtain of artillery fire and by infantry fire, sustaining important losses. The Germans were compelled to return to their lines. . There has been intense artillery activity m the region of Avocourt. During the night the enemy attempted, without result, to take our advanced post at the redoubt of Avocourt. East of the Mouse there was a rather lively bombardment of our first and second lines, while in the forest of Apremont there was grenade fighting.
