CELEBRATION IN AUCKLAND.

SERVICE IN THE TOWN HALL.

AVZAO Day, April 25, will be Commemorated in Auckland by a public service in tho Town Hall at three o'clock in tho afternoon, by a central city service conducted .by the Anglican .Bishop of Auckland, Dr. Avcrill, at St. Matthew's Church, a-quartcr, past twelve, and by special services in other churches in the forenoon.

Tho arrangements for tho Town Hall service have already been announced. In addition to addresses by Dr. Avcrill and the Rev. A. Miller, president of tho Ministers' Association, Commissioner Hoddor will also speak, as the representative of tho Salvation Army, the returned soldiors having particularly requested this in their appreciation of the splendid work doro on behalf of the troops by the Sal-rtion Army. .Members of th*o Vet. fans' Association will form a guard of honour to the returned soldiers, who will parade at tho Towr. 'fall. Invitations have been issued to v u'ned soldiers and their next of kin, and portion of the hall will he open to the public. Tho evening celebration '.'ill consist of a dinner to tho returned soldiers, to be followed by a concert. About 1000 seats will Iks reserved for soldiers and their relatives, but otherwise '.U "on.crt v ill be free to the public.

City Schools' Assemblage. Anzac Day will he celebrated by the children under tho jurisdiction ot the City Schools Committee on Thursday next. The celebration will consist of tho assembling of all children from standard 1 to standard 6. numbering in all about 2000. On behalf of the committee the Mayor was interviewed yesterday, and he has placed the Town Hall at the disposal of tho committee, and also the city organ, and has offered to help in every way. Tho election of a new City Schools Committee takes place on Monday night, but the outgoing committer has left the whole of tho arrangements in the hands of Mr. George Davies.
