POLICE COURT NEWS.
CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.
Tn"fohmatiox« were laid by H. Alder, inspector for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, before Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., in the Police. Court yesterday against two men named Hugh Myland and David Peterson. Both defendants admitted having worked their horses while suffering from sore shoulders. A fine of £2 was imposed in each case.
MISCELLANEOUS.
Austin Bowin was convicted and distharged for riding a bicycle at night with- -•' out lights in Cook Street. William Lord, who admitted having driven a horse and cart across the intersection of Queen and . .Victoria Streets at more than a walking , ./. pace, was similarly treated. For depositing a load of material in a street in - • Mount Albert, contrary to the borough ;i£j . by-laws, Semen Green was fined 10s, and /IV' ordered to pav £2 8s costs and expenses.
