SUCCESSFUL RAID BY BRITISH ON ENEMY TRENCHES.
TRIPLE ATTACK BY GERMANS NEAR YPRES REPULSED.
CANADIANS INFLICT HEAVY LOSSES AT ST. ELOI. (Received April 13. 10.16 p.m.) London, April 12. Sir Douglas Haig reports: "We made a successful small raid on the enemy trenches at Richebourg Lavoue, south of Neuve Chapelle. "On Tuesday the enemy made three successive attacks west of the Pilkem-Ypres road. The first gained a footing in our trenches, but the enemy was quickly driven out. The other attacks were repulsed.
"It is now established that the gallant fighting of the Canadians at St. Eloi last week inflicted heavy losses on the enemy."
