The pro- ;•? gramme includes nine matches, with prizemoney amounting to £155, and a trophy s |" for each match. {'H The 6th, Hauraki, Regiment broko camp V at Paeroa on Saturday, the annual period *k of training having been concluded. The officer commanding the district, Colonel J. i§ E. Hume, accompanied by his staff officer, p Major J. E. Barton, visited the camp on #. Friday, and after inspection expressed li; himself as satisfied with what he saw. f. After inspecting the men at work he M called the non-commissioned officers out 4 and gave Aem a few words of advice in ;v regard to training and their actions as T?' section commanders. The training of the men in camp was on the lines of the sylla|§L bus arranged this season by the Trentham : f'. authorities. One of the attractions of the '£ 'camp was the regimental band, of which ? there was a full muster. LieutenantColonel E. W. Porritt .was in command 'jf of the camp. The total number of all ranks under canvas was 345. m The No. 3 Company, Field Engineers, $ and Divisional Signal Company, with a > , section of the A.S.C., went into camp on Jf- Messrs. On Sunday afternoon tho camp was thrown l-t'. op»* to visitors, and a largo gathering 'of interested, spectators attended. They were entertained to afternoon tea by tho p- officers and non-commissioned officers. fe The Mareretu Rifle Club fired for '• trophies presented by Auckland tradesmen >on April 1. Thirteen members competed at ranges of 200 yds, 300 yds, and 500 yds, 'v.- seven shots and one sighter. Tho first §3 -prize was won by T. V. Nutsford, scr, im two 92; the second by N. Stevens, ban- •<>'. dicap 4, 91; and the third by Jas. Cross, handicap 15, 88.
