AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION.
STORAGE OF BENZINE.
AMENDED BY-LAW SOUGHT.
The ordinary meeting of tho Auckland Automobile Association was held last night in the office of the secretary. The president, Mr. W. H. Hemingway, occupied the chair, and there were also present Messrs. R. B. Spinks, G. Gardner, Ml H. Wynyurd, J. A. Moody and G. Henning.
The secretary reported that on a consignment of benzine purchased by the association and distributed among members a saving of £87 10s had been effected. It was decid'ol that a deputation should wait upon tho Mayor respecting the bylaws in connection with the storage of benzine, with a view to having them modified, so as to allow a maximum ofive cases to be stored by private individuals. 'hie executive of the New Zealand French Red Cross Fund wrote a letter of thanks to the association, expressing keen appreciation of th? help afforded by numbars on Tricolour' Day. It was decided to ask for additional particulars and a {.ketch plan. A report was read from the Wairarapa Automobile Association Mutual Insurance Company, setting forth the lines adopted by the association for the insurance oL members' cars. Over 100 motorists had entered tho scheme. It was resolved to ask for further particulars, with a view to adopting the schemo in Auckland. Mr. Wynyard drew attention to an interesting judicial decision whereby it was recently held that a person who wrongfully took a boat and abandoned it was liable merely for the theft of the uso of the boat, and not for the theft of the boat itself. He understood thai the law was to bo amended. It was decided to ask the Minister for Justice to make tho amendment apply to motor-cars. The following wer o elected members of the association Messrs.
