CORPORATION LABOURERS.
CONFERENCE AT WAIHI. [BT TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. Waihi, Tuesday. A CONFERENCE between representatives of the Borough Council and the Borough La be rers' Union was' held last night to consider the demands of the union for an industrial award. The demands includo an increase of wages rom 9s to 9s 6d a flay for a 45-hour week and nine holidays annually in place of five. Various other clauses were agreed to, and those relating to wages, hours, and holidays will bo referred to a conciliation council.
