KING'S COMPASSION.
London, April 4, The Evening Nr r, states that the King visited » hospital and conversed v. Lth the wounded. His Majesty was muefy moved by the heroism of a young Anzac who had been racked with agonv for weeks. Tfc« King stood at his btv -de for a minute. _ Then he took the surgeon aside and said how sorry he was for the boy, adding, " Write to his parents for me and comfort them as : well as you can!" The surgeon wrote the letter, Cut it is expected that the brave young soldier will die before the letter reaches it* destination.
