LOSS IN RETAIL BUSINESS,

Sydney, April I. Giving evidence before the Meat Commission, several butchers stated tha:, d'x spite the high retail prices now riling, they were carrying on their business a loss. This was partly due to the scare. 3 of stock as the result of the drought. They urged that if prices were fixed 'hf?; should be upon the wholesale and not f.a retail dealers. The witnesses also faY* oured the grading of meat.
