Sydney, Apri! 11. FmirHER evidence regarding the oli*;v tion3 of bribery in connection with the acquisition of the petrol industry was hea d to-day by Mr. Justice Pring. J'r. Reed, Government Superintendent of Stores, cross-examined, said he suggested buying out the British Imperial Oil Company as a good business pr. -->si tion. When the engagement of Morgan was discussed, Mr. A- H. Griffith, Minister for Education, said whatever was done, he wanted Reed to be careful of anything leading to the idea of "graff. ' Witness was under the impression tl.it Morgan looked for an appointment, if the negotiations were successful, as his remuneration. Henry A. Morgan, who was retained by Mr. Griffith as advising expert, u examination, denied that in anything dens in connection with the scheme he tad ever shared, or agreed to share with, .{ to give any money to, a public servant or member of Parliament. Nor had he net said anything about an amount having to go to the Minister or Ministers. He did mention £3000 for his own commission, as the Government war not paving him anything.
