NORTHERN UNION RULES. FIXTURES. December 27.—Tumnsi Athletic Club. December 27.Kawakawa Athletic Sports December —Kohnkobu Athletic Club. December 27.—Hukerenoi Athletic Carnival. The programme for the Ka.waka.wa sports is to hand and, as in the past, will commend itself to competitors. The principal events are: ISOYds of £8, half-mile of £7. 440 yds of £5 10s, and these, with wrestling, putting the weight, tug-of-war. etc., make up a fin* programme. A strong committee has been elected, and Mr. W. Smith ia again secretary, which is sufficient guarantee that competitors will receive every attention and courtesy. - The reciprocal agreement between the N.Z A. and C. Union and the Northern Athletic Union is now complete. The agreement arrived at states that the bodies mentioned are to recognise each other's registrations and disqualifications. This means that once again the whole of .New Zealand and Aus tralia is free for competitors to travel under one registration, and that those disqualified "by either body will find the whole of New Zealand and Australia closed to them.

The programme for Hukerenui is to hand. The principal events are chopping and sawing competitions, but runners and Highland dancers are also well provided lor. The dancing events are for children of 18 years and under, and there is no doubt but that these events will prose popular. Mr. R- Bouse is secretary.

The Ta'iranga athletic sports programme includes no {ewer than eiaht piping and dan;:i is .rents. These competitions prove popular wherever they are arranged.

The president of the Northern Athletic Union, Mr. T. P. Giliedder, is expected to return to Auckland next week, and doubtless he will he full of information of what the other pari} of thi Dominion are doing athletically

The programme for the Kohukoliu athletic sports is now out, and it is one of the best programmes issued this year. The principal events p.re: Half-mile, one mile and two mile cycle events; 130 yds handicap, maiden Handicap, 120 yds, half-mile, one mile and two mile runninpr. and sundry other competitions, the whole comprising a very good combination of athletic contests.
