ROWING.
NORTH SHORE CLUB. The North Shore Rowing Club held trial fours at its official opening for trophies presented by the president, Mr. W. Bowler. Owing to the rough water on the No. 1 course, the races were rowed on Cheltenham Reach, and there was -*om© very close racing. The results were as follows: — First heat: W. Mcllraith. R. Harvey, H. Wright. A. Armstrong, and G. Garrett, R. Follas. L. Fraser, J. C irlett, dead heat, 1; B. Rutledec, J. Paul. P. Ryan. L. Lowe, a canvas behind. 3. Second heat: C. Fowler. A. Stephenson, L. Ford, J. Craig. l- : G. ("roll, J. Wall. H. Hopkins, N. Fraser. 2; F. Bennett. C. Chapman. L. Brooks. A. Alexander. 3. Won by a length ■with one length between second and third crews. Final: Mcllraith beat Fowler by half a length, after an excitine race.
