ARMY OF HALF-A-MLLLION BEING PREPARED. » i mm MACKENSEN BENT ON DOMINATING CONSTANTINOPLE. ATTEMPT TO RECONCILE TURKISH MINISTERS. (Received December 9, 9 p.m.) Rojte, December 8. There is evidence that General Von der Goltz hopes to command 400,000 Turks and 100,000 Germans in an advance towards India in the spring. The Turkish advance guard is already on the way to Bagdad. General Mackensen has arrived at Constantinople, incognito, bent on dominating the internal situation, which is causing anxiety. He is seeking to reconcile Talaat Bey, Minister for the Interior, and Enver Pasha, Minister for War. General Mackensen visited tho Gallipoli front, whither a number of 12in guns have been sent. They were brought to Constantinople by the first through train from Germany. Four thousand secret agents are assisting General Mackensen.
