NEW SOUTH WALES REVENUE. INCREASE IN* TAXATION. By Telegraph— Association—Copyright Siuskt, September 22. The Auditor-General's report shows an increase fir the receipts of 'New South "Wales of £507,999, as compared with 1913. Direct taxation increased by £627,011, the. railway and tramway receipts decreased by £24,055. The public debt increased by £11,040,374, and is now £137,735,405. Six of the State industrial undertakings made -an aggregate loss of £32,222, and eight made an aggregate profit of £32,495. " The net loss since the inauguration of the undertakings totals . £21,212. HOURS UNDERGROUND. , _.. FORTY-FOUR A WEEK.- «--'• SraerET, September 22. - At a meeting of underground men at Broken Hill, a resolution was passed expressing a determination -to fight for a forty-four hours week, to commence from midnight on Friday night. The fight will be carried on by working forty hours a week until the whole union is granted a forty-four hours week. Stdnkt, September 22. The employee* of the North Sydney gasworks struck to-day owing to the dismissal of a trimmer, and the northern suburbs have consequently been without light to-night.
