Hamilton, Thursday. At the Supreme Court to-day, Peter Garibaldi Merlo, who had been found guilty on Tuesday of forgery and perjury at Te Aroha, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment on each charge, the sentences to run concurrently. On a charge of carnally knowing a girl under the age of 16 years at Tuhikaramea in June last, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty after a short retirement.
