ENTERTAINMENTS.

" WITH THE FIGHTING - FORCES OP f EUROPE." < After a remarkably successful tear of the southern portion of New Zealand, the Kinemacolor army and navy pictures, entitled " With the Fighting Forces of Europe," will be shown for the first time in Auckland at His Majesty's Theatre tonight. The pictures are said to cover a very wide range of interesting and educational military subjects. Our "friend, the enemy," is shown in some striking infantry and cavalry work, and the German fleet is seen at Kiel. The armies of Cireat Britain, France, Russia, Belgium, Italy, Servia, and even Japan are shown, and the naval subjects are equally interesting. The film, which is 15,000 ft long, is in natural collours, not coloured photographs but photographed colours as one writer puts it, and for gorgeousness of colouring and for magnificent spectacles it is said that nothing equal to it has ever been seen in Auckland. A lecturer describes the various scenes, there will bo a full orchestra and th© operator is an expert from London. Mr. Roland Stavcly, manager of the Kinemacolor Com pan v, which produces " With the Fighting Forces of Europe," was last here as manager of the Plimmer-Hall patriotic tour which resulted in over £3500 being handed over to the Belgian and Red Cross Funds. OPERA HOUSE. The Opera House management, in pursuance of their policy of quick changes in programmes, will present several new acts at the Opera House to-night. The new attractions will include Hennessey and Man tell in a pot pourri comedy and juggling act. A special farewell season will be commenced by Miss Dorothy Harris, the American comedienne and ragtime singer. The farewell week in Auckland will be commenced by the Newmans, English comedy duo and the Jeunets, American novel gymnasts and acrobatio duo. The Butterflies will also enter upon the last week of their Auckland season. This company has been very successful during their Auckland season and will appear in special request numbers.

KING GEORGE THEATRE. Gratifying support has been given to the King George Theatre pictures during the past week, and considerable interest has been taken in the fine selection of films that -was presented. The new programme to-day -will include the tenth! episode of the long serial, " The Master Key." Those who witnessed the screening of the opening episodes of the serial have maintained their interest in the picture. This is due to the splendid manner in which the theme forming the basis off the story has been constructed. The supporting films include, " Sight to . the Blind," " Eclair Journal," "War Topical," and Mr. Daly's Wedding."

GRAFTON THEATRE. A picture of unusual merit, entitled, "Iron Justice," will be presented at the Grafton Theatre to-day. In the production of the film three well-known artists, Miss Tittell Brune, Miss Sydney Fairbrother, and Mr. Julian Boyce, are featured. The picture concerns the experiences of Martin Brand, a man who rules his household with a rod of iron.His harshness towards one of his employees, who is accused of fraud, causes a breach between himself and his wife. Extraordinary complications arise, due to his wife's defence of the young man, and the wilfulness of Mr. Brand's danghi ter. A fascinating story ends happily.

EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. 7 Following a very successful opening, Everybody's Theatre is claiming a very fair share of ! the ' patronage of those who enjoy picture entertainments. Good houses were recorded all day on Satur3ay, despite the inclement weather. To-day a new series of pictures will-be presented. " The False Friend," which forms tha second episode of the serial, "The ! Million Dollar Mystery," will be the leading attraction. A diverting * comedy, 4 "Those College Girls," and the Pathe Gazette, will be two interesting 2 feature*. A picture entitled, " The-Royal.. Danish / - Navy," shows tire arrangement of the/ mechanism and the operations of tb/ modern submarine. " - , ORGAN RECITAL; " . The organ recital given in the Town / Hall on Saturday night by the - city, or- X C : ganist, Mr. Maughan Barn'ett, was. fairly • well attended. The programme opened with the playing of Callearts' " Marc}.* Solennelle," which was followed by Gou-; nod's " Le Soir." The full resources of the ?; - organ were excellently displayed in the ; rendition of Wesley's ■" Choral ' Song and Fugue." ; The programme i included, "Minuet," Paderewski; "Suite for Organ," Dubois; "Hymne Celeste," - Grey and "Ypres Melody," which had' been: arranged for carillons by Mr. Maughan.- ~ - Barnett. An enjoyable . recital teoncladed: with the playing of H'erold's popular overture to " Zampa." PALACE THEATRE. - The collection of pictures ~ screened 'at the Palace Theatre, Newton, on. Saturday attracted good attendances throughout the day. The dramatic " film, ' "The Frame Up,'' contained many interesting features, while the picture, "Pure Gold," gave much pleasure to those who saw it. The Topical Budget and a comic study, *' He Would "Not Stay at Home," concluded the programme. NEW SCENIC RAILWAY. The sensation of riding in a railway train and viewing the picturesque scenery of the finest beauty spots of the world, form the experience of the patrons of the new Scenic Railway Picture House in , Queen Street. The entertainment continues throughout the day, and it is interesting ana instructive. Changes in the programme are made three times a week. PICTURE ENTERTAINMENTS. A three-act drama, " The Enemies,"^ will form the chief attraction at th« Globe Theatre to-day. A story of Alaska, " The Spoilers," was screened at the Lyric Theatre on Saturday. " The Dollar Mark" is the title of an interesting drama shown at the Princess Theatre on Saturday. Included in the programme shown at' the Queen's Theatre on Saturday was a picture entitled, " World's Desire." A series of interesting pictures was screened at the King's Theatre on Saturday. The leading film shown at the Grand! Theatre on Saturday was a drama entitled* " The Frame Up." *
