ATHLETICS.
NORTHERN UNION RULES. The Lalxur Day sports programme will be issued in the course of a few days, and while the prize-money has been reduced there are still sufficient events and enough prise-money to satisfy the average competitor. Highland dances, which hare become a special feature at most sports meetings since the Northern Union assumed control of this class of event, have been included in the programme. Mr. J- Elliott is sports' secretary, and the committee is to be congratulated on securing the services of such a hard-working and competent tmcial to again carry the sports to a successful issue.
