PATRIOTIC FUNDS.
NATIONAL ADMINISTRATION.
OTAGO EXECUTIVE'S DECISION. [BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION*.] Dtjnedin, Friday. The Patriotic Executive metAhis morning to consider the report of a sub-committee on the proposed scheme for a national fund. The report stated that the committee considered Mr. Skerrett's scheme impracticable, and that the Otago Patriotic Association was definitely committed to the principle of local control and administration. The committee saw no reasons for departing from this, being convinced that most effective and, economical administration could be obtained by each association having complete autonomy. Ultimately the executive resolved: "That we do not take part in the conference at "Wellington unless it is quite open and free to discuss any proposal for the >"'.er ! administration of the fund." Messis. G. ( L. Denniston, G. Fenwick, and F. W. I I Mitchell were appointed provisionally as i delegates to the conference.
