Wellington. Friday. The petitions which have been received by Parliament in regard to the proposed Rotorua-Taupo railway were reported upon in the House to-day by the committee which has considered them. The

petitions in favour of the railway being constructed and the land adjacent to the route being rated in accordance with benefits received be referred to the Government for consideration. The con*, mittee reported that it had no recommendation to make in regard to the five petitions objecting to the railway proposal.
