FRENCH RED CROSS.
I APPEAL FOR FUNDS. -Lx appeal on behalf of the French Bed | Cross Society is being made by the Aucks Ind French. Club in connection with a all for funds -which is being made throughout the Dominion. The club is jjstributing a pamphlet describing the jjjbrk of the French Red Cross and the Med for more funds to continue . its 4 i aerations. It is pointed out that the Sench Red Cross Society, besides per- t fTlming the work for which it is primarily intended, is at the" same time ministering to the needs of wounded British soldiers, and constantly showing its ardent sympathy for the allies as a -whole. During the last 12 months it has carried out ambulance work on a fighting front of over 350 miles in length, and maintained hundreds of hospitals in inland towns away from the fighting line, and, besides this, it is looking after a large number of refugees. The appeal is made, only fee those members of J the community "who are in a position to add one more" to the list of objects to which they have already subscribed.
