CAPTURE OF SIEDLCE.

Amsterdam, August 14.

An official communique from Berlin states: "A new battle is developing, in which General von Hindenburg's armies are engaged north of the Niemen, in the district of Alesoff, Kupischky, Westchinty, and Kowarsk. Before Kovno we captured the fortified forest of Domikanka, taking 350 prisoners.

" Between the Xarew and the Bug we reached Slina, whore the enemy is resisting. We stormed a strong advanced position north of Novo Georgievsk, taking 1800 prisoners and capturing four machine>guns."
