TRIBUTE TO THE FRENCH.
BRITAIN'S RECOGNITION. RED CROSS CAMPAIGN. (Received July 8. 2 a m.) London, July 7. Britain is to-day offering a national tribute to France in the form of a general collection for the French Red Cross work. The campaign includes services at Westminster Abbey and Westminster Cathedral and a fete at Montague House, which Queen Mary, Queen Alexandra, and many members of the Royal Family will attend. Ladies are selling tiny tricolours in shops, at the railway stations, and in restaurants, and theatres, but not in the streets.
The school children of London were assembled at noon to sing "The Marseillaise."
