GERMAN CHECK IN SOUTH-EAST POLAND.
ADVANCE STOPPED BY BLOW ON FLANK. OVER 4000 CASUALTIES INFLICTED BY RUSSIANS. (Received July 7, 8.5 p.m.) Peteogead, July 6. An official communique states: " Most desperate fighting took place on Sunday evening and Monday morning between the Vistula and the Western Bug, in the south-east of Poland, in the sector between Urzedow and Lukowa. The German offensive east of Krasnik was stopped by a blow on the German flank on the heights northwest of the Wilkolaz, where 2000 Germans were made prisoners and 2000 were killed-" Fresh attempts by the enemy to assume the offensive between the Wiepoz and the Western Bug were successfully repulsed on Monday-
