GENERAL VON SANDERS REPORTED WOUNDED.
COMMANDER OF TURKISH ARMY ON GALLIPOLI. DAYS PASSED IN FEAR OF ASSASSINATION. London, July 6. Advices received at Athens state that Field-Marshal Liman von Sanders, the German officer who was appointed to reorganise the Turkish Army, and who has been directing the campaign in Gallipoli, has been wounded. Earlier reports received from Bucharest stated that von Sanders wears armour of some kind on his body, and also on his head, fearing assassination at the hands of some disenchanted Turk. No one is admitted to his house unless personally known. Through a small sliding panel in the door visitors are thoroughly examined before being received.
