ROSS GOLDFIELDS. £208 FROM 1100 TRUCKS. The following return was telegraphed from the Ross Uoldfields yesterday:—"s2o/. 4dwt from 1100 trucks." The value of this return is about £208. The superintendent of the Ross mine leports for the week ended July 1 :— ' No. 2 winze, drive east, which is now out 582 ft from No. 2 shoot, was advanced 26ft in wash which is payable over a depth of 4ft. At 450tt from the shoot. No. b south drive was opened out and advanced 6ft in pay wash. No. 5 north-east blocking dri\e was extended 13tt in fair grade v.ash_. Blocking is proceeding off Nos. 2 and 3 south-west drives, and No. 4 northeast drive."' WAIHI WARDEN'S COURT. WARNINGS TO MINERS. [UV TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Waihi, Wednesday. At a sitting of the Warden's Court today Mr. Cruickshank, warden, presiding. Edward Beach pleaded not guilty to a charge of negligence in the Waihi mine in failing to give warning of his intention to tire a charge of explosives in a pass. After hearing tiie evidence of the mining inspector. .Mr. M. Paul, who laid the information, a conviction was recorded, and a tine of £2 was imposed. W. J. Maccormack. sen., pleaded guilty and W. S. Maccormack. jim.. not guilty to a breach of the Mining Act in failing to use a water-spray when drilling a hole. Mac(orma«-k. sen., was convicted and fined £2. and the charge against the sou was dismissed.

Jackson) for four special sites containing 4} aires for battery extension purposes was opposed by the Waihi Extended Gold Alining Company (M.
