BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY Ihe tone of the sharemarket was quiet yesterday. A transaction in Bank of New Zeahmda (old issue) wa.s effected at £11. South British Insurances were quoted at 99s by sellers and at 96s and 95s by I buyers. Auckland Trains (pref.) were done at 20s, and (ord.) at 21s and 20s 9d. New Zealand Portland Cements changed hands at (9s 6d). In mining lines. Waihis found sale at 40s 3d. 40s 6u, and again at 40s 3d. Sellers asked 20s 6:1 for Talismans and buyers quoted 20s.
