PIAKO MATCHES.
S The first round of tho championship matches ■of tho Piako Hockey Association was concluded on Saturday, when Te Aroha defeated 'Waitoa by 6 goals to 2. Paeroa forfeited to Morrinsville on account of in- . ability to get a team away. In tho Te ArohaWaitoa match tho better side won, but the "fame was not so uneven as the scores would 'indicate. The Te Aroha team played with good combination, Hill and Hnlligan being, if anything, the pick of a good lot, -and for Waitoa Cooper, McLean, Milliken, ..and Cook were most prominent. The latter * team has be?n weakened somewhat by several good players going to the front. Cooper and ) Milliken scored for Waitoa. and Hall-'gan, ; Hill. Yardley, Goodall, and Flowerday (2), for Te Aroha. Mr. A. Humphries, of Morrinsville. was referee. I- The folic wing is the result of the first
