In* connection with the fire whHi took place at the Mail newspaper building on June 6, a young man named Clifton James McCJormack appeared at the Court today to answer a charge of arson. The accused handed in a written confession, ill which he admitted having sat fire to a building adjoining the Mail building. He expressed l>is sorrow for his mad act, which, lie said, filled him with shame. He did not realise the seriousness of his. acts. Accused, who said he had nothing further to say, was remanded to tha Auckland Supreme Court for senteuce.
