GERMANY STRIVING TO AVERT ROMANIA'S ENTRY.
SPECIAL ENVOY SENT TO BUCHAREST. ANXIETY DISPLAYED ( IN THE GERMAN PRESS. Times ind Sydney Sun Services. (Received May 31, 5.65 p.m.) London, May 30. Prince De Wedel, Germany's special envoy, has arrived at Bucharest, in a last effort to prevent Roumania joining the allies. The German press expresses anxiety as to how Italy's intervention will affect the Balkan States. The newspapers declare that it is necessary for German diplomats to busy themselves and to impress the neutral states, especially Roumania, with the significance of the Austro-German successes in Galicia. They angrily say that there must be no repetition of Prince von Buelow's failure in Re me. Italy should have been kicked out of the Alliance long ago.
