TURKS BURY OVER THREE THOUSAND DEAD.
CASUALTIES SUSTAINED AGAINST DOMINION TROOPS.
VERY HEAVY LOSSES REVEALED BY ARMISTICE. London, May 27. The Press Bureau states that General Birdwood, in command of the Australian and New Zealand Array Corpn, reports that during the FUFpension of hostilities to bury the dead, much larger losses than 3000 came to light. Two other areas covered by Turkish dead were found. Four hundred corpses were counted in a space of 80yds by 100 yds. The Turkish burying parties worked quietly and quickly, all being supplied with cottonwool prepared with some solution to deaden the stench, a most necessary precaution. Over 1200 Turkish rifles were picked up on the Australasian side of the dividing Sine during the suspension.
