SATISFACTORY RECRUITING

KITCHENER PLEASED. PRAISE FOR ORGANISATION. DEMAND FOR AMMUNITION. London, April 22. In the House of Commons Mr. H. A. Tennant, in a statement on the War Estimates, stated that Earl Kitchener had authorised him to say that recruiting during the past few months was most satisfactory. The numbers were maintained with amazing regularity. Earl Kitchener was confident that when he appealed to the nation for more men they would come with the same readiness and promptness.

The medical and sanitary arrangements were remarkable, said MrTennant. Wounded officers and men often arrived in this country 24 hours after they had been incapacitated. There had been not one case of enteric since the commencement of the campaign. Earl Kitchener desired to again emphasise the importance of a limitless supply of artillery ammunition.
