RAILWAY SURPRISE.
DISMANTLING A STATION.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.! Gore. Friday. Residents of Waikaka, 14 miles from Gore, were surprised yesterday morning when a gang of men commenced to dismantle the railway station there. No explanation was given by the workers, who were at work two hours before the telegraph office opened. An indignation meeting of residents was held, and a telegram of protect was forwarded to the Hon. W. Fraser, the member for the district,who communicated with the Minister for Railways. Mr. Fraser, who i 6 Minister for Public Works, said that he was greatly surprised to learn what had taken place.
